French Women Don’t Get Fat – Reading Plan

Happy New Year!!!

I hope you are all ready to get started with our first book, French Women Don’t Get Fat, by Mireille Guiliano.

This book catches my attention every time I find it in the book drop at the library where I work.  I have had it on my “To Read” list for awhile, so I figured I would move it to the top of the list and make it one of the first books I read in 2018.

I love reading about food from other cultures.  Of course the French are known for their cuisine.  I have made a few of Julia Child’s recipes from her cookbook, The Art of French Cooking.  My family was not disappointed.  Who would be disappointed in food full of lots of butter and real cream?

As I was flipping through the book, I saw that the author included a few recipes.  I may have to give some of them a try.

Reading Plan:

I have divided the book into reading increments that should be completed by each Thursday in January.  The only exception is Thursday, January 4th.  I will be doing a Facebook live, but there will not be a discussion on any reading we have done other than just general questions.  I wanted to give everyone time to get their hands on a copy of the book.

The goal is to try and stick to the following schedule.

1/11/18 – have through page 96 read

1/18/18 – have pages 97-189 read

1/25/18 – have pages 190-282 read

2/1/18 – have the book finished (We will finish our discussion on this book as well as be introduced to our next book.)

This reading plan is just a guideline.  If you do not want to join in on the weekly discussions and would rather join in at the end of the month, then feel free.  I want this book club to be something that you enjoy.
